The Food Project was studying about food and tracing it back to its original source. We explored different food ethics and ways to view food and the food system. Finally, we were tasked with writing an essay on our own food ethics and feelings towards it. While doing this project I didn't really feel my opinions change. before the project i never thought about any of that stuff under the surface of the food world and now I still don't. But, It did make me a little more aware of just how cruel some of these systems are.
In our Chemistry class we are also working on a food project that dives into what actually makes up our food on a molecular level. Learning about food in both classes was helpful because after reading and researching for humanities and learning about the farms and plantations and then go to Chem and learn about whats inside of the things that come out of these places. It gave me like a second perspective and farther investigation.
While studying this topic I didn't really feel like my ethic about food was changed. I loved how interesting it was and there is a lot hidden in the topic. I am definitely more aware of the problems with the system and I feel worse for the animals but I do not believe that I would stop eating any sort of food from what I learned.

"Food Eaters & Food Thinkers" My Essay
Food Eaters & Food Thinkers
Some eat their food. Some decide to think about it, study it, shame it. I choose to eat. When I have a meal or a snack or go down an isle in the grocery store i’m not thinking about where my food came from or what animal had to suffer or how it was made, i'm thinking about how yummy it's about to be and how if I didn't have that piece of matter I would not survive.
I think it is good to be aware of those things but when you make it into some crazy investigation on the stuff that keeps our world upright. Some people think we’d be better and healthier if we were still hunter gatherers; and it's true but, a hunter gatherer lifestyle would never ever support this many people and especially in this day and age. A worldwide food crisis would arise, people would be scared, hungry, and I wouldn't be surprised if it triggered a food war.
We need the system we have now or things could get tough, and even though it hurts us to see it go this way, we did it to ourselves. Now before you think I'm completely senseless, I do not agree with the way we are doing things to feed people but I believe it is necessary as well as safe. If we developed a better system starting way back I think we could have an all around solid and healthy food system but we did what we needed to. The Omnivore's Dilemma didn’t really tug on me in any way except the dairy cows. It is sad, and it is wrong.
But in this world everything comes with a sacrifice and we are the most selfish species on the planet and we’d sacrifice anything for the good of humankind. Food is a twisted dark maze under its shiney clean surface. There are the ones who chose to stay on the surface, and others who chose to take on the maze.
